I chose the book Nights in Rodanthe. The other day I was in the library looking for a book to read, and found this one. I read the front part and it sounded interesting. A big part of why I chose this novel is because the author is Nicholas Sparks. Every movie or novel I have watched or read by him has been amazing. I am honestly not hooked on this book yet. Nothing really interesting has happened but I am not very far yet. I'm hoping this gets better as I keep reading.

DeleteI chose to read the book, "If I Stay" by Gayle Forman. I choose to read this book because I wanted to read something along the lines of my last book. The beginning of the book starts off kind of rough because its just introducing the character and the setting. One thing that I found interesting is they told us that they cancel school when there is a inch of school on the ground. Thats crazy because we would always have school off all the time. After all the introduction, I am now hooked into my book and its getting good.

DeleteI chose the book Charlie St. Cloud. I chose this book because it was very interesting and people told me it was an extremely good read. This book pulled me in because of the story line and how the two brothers supported each other. My initials thoughts would be how exciting the book started really fast. I was hooked right away because Charlie and Sam stole a car and got in a huge accident that turned deadly for Sam. After this the book started to slow down and get a tad boring but it is starting to become a romance novel.

DeleteFor my last novel in this class I chose to read “Carrie” by Stephen King. I’ve never read a book by Stephen King, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to read one of his books. I’ve always been interested in anything related to horror. Because Stephen King is known for his horror stories I thought “Carrie” would be the perfect choice for me. One aspect that was important to me when choosing this novel is, that it wouldn’t be too long to read. Stephen King is known for his really long novels, often more than 1000 pages like “It” or “The Shining”, but “Carrie” isn’t too long. For the third book in this class I also wanted to read something completely different than the last two books. Now that I have started reading the book, I am happy to say it was the right choice. This novel is about a teenage girl named Carrie, who gradually discovers that she has telekinetic powers. Carrie has to deal with a super religious mother at home and her peers at school, who are bullying Carrie for being different. So far I really enjoy reading this book and I think it will get even better in the end.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure it will get really interesting as the book goes on. Since this book is considered one of King's notable works, I think you'll be satisfied with what's in stored in this.
DeleteI chose the book Ferguson Rifle by Louis Lamour. I chose this book because I enjoy reading about the wild west adventures. Its boring as of right now but it should get better as i read on. I read the back of the book to see what its about. Then i figured that this book seem very interesting.

I chose to read this book because I've always wanted to read the book, and I've already seen the movie, so I figured I would see how much better or worse the book is than the movie. The book isn't real interesting right now as I'm just in the beginning of the book. I'm expecting the book to get much better soon and become hooked

DeleteAmerican Sniper by Chris Kyle i chose this book because I've heard good things about this book and thought it seemed like a good read. Asked the library to find it. Because it has guns and military. I like this book a lot and its easy for me to read because its something i like to read about. it started with a flashback and intro to his life. I'm hooked on the book and found it really good.

DeleteI chose the book Night, I chose this book because many people say it was a good read. I really didn't go through a process to find my book i just thought it sounded like a good book. I also chose this book because it talks about the holocaust, and I somewhat like history books so this book is good for me.

DeleteThe book I choose was No Country For Old Men by Cormac McCarthy. I choose this book, mainly, because I've seen and, very much, liked the 2007 Coen Brothers film adaptation of the same name. I was in the process of choosing two other books, which were Steve Jobs and The Godfather. When I came across No Country For Old Men in the school library, I figured I could read the two other books some other time I want since I already own them and I have to return this book when I'm finished. When I began reading the book, I immediately got drawn into it because all the elements of the film adaptation, obviously, existed in this book. Those elements are what made this book one of McCarthy's greatest works at the time, and it's what made the movie an Oscar-winning adaptation. The intro of this book is very interesting as it begins with a narration from one of the main characters, an old sheriff, about how he, throughout his experience, is witnessing a new generation of criminal activity and how he doesn't want to be the one who deals with it. From the events that happened immediately after the intro is what got me, deeply, hooked to this book.
ReplyDeleteI chose to read the book Night by Elie Wiesel. I chose to read this book because i heard from past readers in the class that night was a good book. My process to finding this book was to walk to the back of the room and grab the book because i was already set on reading this book. The book seems to start off a little ruff but it has me hooked for how much i have read.

DeleteMY book is called Ashes, Ashes I chose this book because I bought it a long time ago and I still haven't read it yet, so I am finally going to read it. My book started a little slow as most books do but i'm hooked because it interests me that the main character Lucy has to survive in this post-apocalyptic setting.

ReplyDeleteI chose to read the book Deep Zone because I like books about football and it seemed like an interesting read. My process was just walking through the library and it caught my eye. There isn't really a specific reason why I chose the book other than it's about football. I am not very far into the book but I really like it so far. It starts off with a star NFL rookie getting hurt and could possibly suffer a career ending injury. It really hooked me in with all the suspense it creates.

ReplyDeleteI chose to read this book because I have heard from many people it is a good book. I have enjoyed reading other books by Rick Riordan, so I decided to read this book. The Lighting Thief is also a movie so it will be interesting to watch the movie after I read the book and compare which is better.

DeleteI am reading the book, Max by Jennifer LI Shotz. I choose this book because I saw the movie and I thought it would be a really good book to read. I was determined to find the book, first I called some family, and then I asked my neighbors. My neighbors had the book so I ended up just borrowing it from them, and it was not as hard as i thought it was going to be to find the book. I wanted to read it because I like dogs and I liked the movie. I have not read any of the book yet but I have heard it is a really suspenseful and emotional book.

DeleteI chose rules of attraction for my book it looked like a good book from looking at the cover. it has a ton of chapters in it but they are pretty short so i am right now on chapter 3 in the first three chapters it explains the boy (carols) and hid life and how he is a bad kid and has been in gangs. in the second chapter it explains how the girl (kiara) who does really good in school.

DeleteI chose the book The Choice by Nicholas Sparks because I have read a few other books by him and I really enjoyed them. This one pulled me in because its about two people falling in love, and it was really suspenseful about how it was going to end. Peyton had also told me that the book is very good and I thought it was worth a shot. I just started reading the book, and it is off to a slow start but I can't wait for it to pick up and get exciting.

They also made a movie off of this book and it goes really well with the book so when your done reading you should watch the movie.
DeleteThe book I chose was The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks. I chose this book because I really like the author and Peyton Smith told me it was her favorite book ever. I also read the front cover and it sounded very interesting to me. Every other book I read by this author or movie I saw was very good. The begging of the book hasn't hooked me yet but it is still good. I haven't got very far but i hope it gets better as I read.

DeleteI am reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I choose to read this book because I have always wanted to read it but I could never get myself past the first chapter so I thought that if I have to read it I will actually finish it. My mom has been obsessed with Harry Potter books for as long as I can remember and I have seen all the movies but it is very interesting and exciting to read and learn all of the other small details that I have never known. The beginning of the book is a lot different from the movie because it starts out talking about the day before the Dursleys found Harry on their front porch. It talks about all the strange things that happened that day and it even says how Mrs. Dursley found Harry when she was putting out the milk bottles on the front porch. I really like this book already and I can’t wait to learn more interesting details that the movies leave out.

DeleteI choose the book True Believer by Nicholas Sparks because I have read many of his books and they have all been good. I am hoping the same for this book and I always enjoy a good romantic book. I just started the book and its off to a slow start right now but hopefully it will pick up soon and things will start happening. I am excited to see where this book goes and the story line of it.

DeleteI'm reading "lost in the Jungle". so far the book is about four backpackers going on a trip in south america. i am assuming they are going to get lost due to the name of the book. i picked this book because i like survival stories and this is supposedly a true story about just that. my first thoughts on the book is that it is boring. i am on page 80 and still nothing has happened. i'm hoping the book picks up when they finally do get lost.

ReplyDeleteI choose to read, STAR WARS Survivors Quest by Timothy Zahn. I wanted to read a star wars book in general because to me they are very easy to read and i stay hooked with the book and i love to learn more about the expanded universe, now dubbed legends, but Survivors quest really caught my attention fast. Luke Skywalker and his wife Mara Jade Skywalker have been made aware that a mysterious ship called Outbound Flight from the Jedi council and the Rise of the Empire Era has been found and Luke wants to go to the ship in hope that he can learn more about the Jedi before his time. Along the way he will have some roadblocks....
ReplyDeleteThe book I chose to read is, The Color Purple because I have heard many strong opinions about it. The process I went through had to do a lot with the reading and genre because it was hard to determine if I would be able to understand the reading. My initial thoughts about the book consisted of the first few pages of the book, I didn’t know how hard it would be for me to understand the reading until I started reading. It is a little hard to read this book because there is violence against women. The book starts off by a girl introducing herself as being only fourteen years old, being sexually abused by her dad. So far I am hooked with the book and enjoying it a lot.

I choose this book because it seemed like it would be easily relatable and it also seemed like a book i would want to keep reading and not get tired of. The book starts off right away in the middle of a soccer game that seems to be intense.

I always keep up with the Kardashians but my mom actually picked out first and read it and told me it was good and it answered a lot of questions you as a person might have after finding out Bruce Jenner is no longer a " He" .
